Every Christmas season I really look forward to about 1/4" of eggnog in a small-ish glass. I fully enjoy it, then I am DONE. Too cloying, too sweet for any more. This year (2017) I was home and out of Bailey's and feeling like enjoying a creamy delight, so I played around and came up with this. It's lighter than either Bailey's or eggnog and didn't mess with my blood sugar... win, win!
1 oz brandy (might try spiced rum on another night)
1 oz vanilla syrup (Toroni's sugar-free)
1-2 oz cream*
1-2 oz milk*
a little grated nutmeg
Mix and serve over ice.
*Or, it should go without saying, 2-4 oz half and half :-) |
